Who is Joe Cousins?

A fabricator. A nerd. An artist. A husband and father. A perfectionist.

I was introduced to welding and fabricating while originally going to college for digital illustration, the very next day I switched programs. I started my career welding dumpsters at a shop in Seattle, then moved on to higher valued quality and pay working on heavy plate. Windmill towers, bridge and drill casing, X-Ray and UT testing and subsequent repair.

I still wanted more, so moved on to shipwork. Harsher conditions, higher skill demand and, higher pay. Learned to weld ambidextrous, TIG, stick, mirror, and began my exotic metals journey. Stainless, Aluminum, and CuNi, X-Ray and UT.

After shipyards had no more to offer, I joined UA Plumbers and Pipefitters and really started to specialize in TIG and stainless. UA has given me the opportunity to work with Chromoly, hydraulics and far and away the highest demand for quality in the business. X-Ray, UT, PAUT were standard, as well as strict aesthetic requirements.

Moving in to my own shop I have been working on tube framework, custom exhaust, business signs, and repair. Iā€™m a fixer and tinkerer, with a knack for visualizing a completed project before it begins, working with clients to troubleshoot or design whatever they may need repaired, or made manifest.

Beyond my career, I am a bit of everything. Over my life I have had considerable investment in music, gaming, books, bodybuilding, nutrition, automotive, and a passing interest in just about anything. I love to learn new things, whether on my own or from another more versed in a topic. At end of the day though, I just wanna build cool shit.
